Used Car Manager

Hunter Automotive Group, a family-owned dealership proudly serving the community for over 85 years, is seeking an experienced Used Car Manager to lead our pre-owned vehicle sales and inventory to drive dealership performance.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects of the pre-owned vehicle department, including inventory acquisition, appraisal, reconditioning, and pricing to maximize turn rate and profitability.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve pre-owned volume and gross profit objectives.

  • Oversee the vehicle reconditioning process, coordinating with the service department to ensure fast turnaround times and high-quality inventory.

  • Monitor market trends and use inventory management tools to price vehicles competitively.

  • Train, mentor, and coach sales staff to strengthen pre-owned product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer experience.

  • Structure and finalize pre-owned vehicle deals while maintaining dealership profitability and compliance.

  • Work closely with the Used Car Director to align department goals and operations.

  • Ensure all sales processes, CRM usage, and follow-up procedures are consistently followed.

Required Experience & Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3–5 years of automotive sales experience, with specific experience in used car management, appraising, and auction buying preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage pre-owned inventory velocity, wholesale operations, and aging units.

  • Strong understanding of dealership sales processes, CRM tools, and inventory management software (e.g., vAuto, Dealerslink).

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team to meet or exceed goals.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
