Description Summary:
Security Supervisors oversees Security Officers on an assigned shift, assuring adherence to Internal Controls, State Compact as well as Security and Silver Reef policies and procedures. Security Supervisors are also individually assigned specific Departmental tasks and report to the Security Managers.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of Casino Security Experience.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate well verbally and in writing is required.
- Demonstrated basic math skills.
- Able to read, write and understand the English language.
- Able to successfully pass CPR, First Aid, O2, CARE and AED certification exams.
- Criminal activity at or away from work may result in immediate termination.
- Intermediate typing and computer skills with MS Office and similar programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive professional and or college level training is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Supervisory level law enforcement / and or casino security experience.
- Post Secondary education is preferred.
License Requirement(s):
- Class III Gaming License
- Washington State Driver's License and qualified for SRC approved drivers list.
Essential Job Functions:
- Must satisfactorily complete New Officer and Security Supervisor Training.
- Trains, evaluates and coaches security personnel to improve performance and ensure compliance with all State, Tribal, and Silver Reef policies.
- Assists Security Manager with functions such as, but not limited too, formulating and maintaining daily and monthly scheduling, and personnel documents.
- Ensures adequate personnel are present and stationed at required posts and zones when necessary.
- Ensures all department reports and logs are filed whenever needed, and ensure all are done in a complete and accurately manner.
- The ability to display and demonstrate excellent judgment and common sense.
- Able to accurately formulate and give performance evaluations to all Officers under their supervision.
- Maintain Confidentiality.
- Have and maintain an excellent understanding of the State and Tribal Compact, Internal Controls, and Company and Department policies.
- Provide minor First Aid and CPR when required.
- Able to effectively deal with difficult, abusive or intoxicated guests or employees in a positive and non-confrontational manner.
- Supervise table and electronic gaming device money collections (drops) throughout property.
- Excellent documentation abilities.
- Perform specific administrative and other Security Department duties as assigned.
- Protect life and property
- Document violations of Silver Reef and Department policies for assigned Security Officers.
- Observe and report suspicious activity to Security Manager in a clear and concise manner.
- Effectively communicate and work with the various other Directors, Managers and Supervisors throughout the property.
- Effectively communicate and work with Lummi Nation Police, other local Law Enforcement, and the Tribal Gaming Agency.
- Able to maintain oneself as a credit to the Silver Reef Casino.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Able to work any shift, and days, including national and religious holidays.
- Works Overtime to cover shifts when other Supervisors are on leave.
- The ability to display and demonstrate excellent judgment and common sense.
- Able to multitask while talking to guests and coworkers, listening to the radio and answering the phone.
- Show interest and initiative in learning and understanding of the State and Lummi Nation Compact, Internal Controls, and Company and Department policies.
- Able to work for long periods of time while standing and walking.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work and tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, and bright lights.
- Able to repetitively bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist and grip items when necessary.
- Able to deal and conform to inherent property changes.
- Be able to effectively work and function under stressful situations.
- Have the ability to adequately protect oneself from assault.
- Excellent vision including peripheral.
- Excellent hearing.
- Able to accept constructive coaching.
Working Conditions:
- Constantly in noisy conditions that may also be hot or cold.
- Occasionally works outdoors including in hot, cold, wet, or icy conditions.
- Occasionally in contact with heavy tobacco smoke, offensive odors or other hazards.
