Salary range from $20-22.00/hour.Location: New York, NY Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Reports To: Operations ManagerJob SummaryThe Process Server is responsible for delivering legal documents to residents in accordance with New York State laws and court requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, time management, and the ability to accurately document service attempts and completed service. The Process Server plays a critical role in supporting legal proceedings by ensuring court documents are properly served and documented.Key ResponsibilitiesServe legal documentsMaintain compliance with New York State laws, regulations, and court rules governing service of process.Complete affidavits of service and other required legal documentation accurately and timely.Document all service attempts, including dates, times, locations, and outcomes.Communicate professionally with attorneys, courts, and residentsManage assigned routes and prioritize service requests to meet deadlines.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information.Submit completed paperwork and status updates within established timelines.QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Valid New York driver's license and reliable transportation.Ability to read and understand legal documents.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Basic computer and mobile technology proficiency.PreferredPrior experience as a process server, courier, investigator, or legal support professional.Knowledge of New York Civil Practice Law and Rules (CPLR) and service-of-process requirements.Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to handle difficult or confrontational situations professionally.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain detailed records and prepare precise affidavits.Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines.Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.Physical RequirementsFrequently travel throughout assigned service areas.Walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods.Lift and carry documents and equipment up to 20 pounds.Work flexible hours, including weekends, as required to complete service attempts.Working ConditionsPrimarily field-based work.Exposure to varying weather conditions.Regular interaction with the public.Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on service requirements.Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range: Compensation typically ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience, geographic coverage area, volume of assignments, and licensing status.Competitive hourly rateMileage reimbursementTraining and ongoing professional development.Benefits package available for eligible full-time employees.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
