Physical Therapy Technician/AideLansing, MI, USSalary Range: 14.00 To 16.00 (USD) AnnuallyWe are looking for full or part-time applicants who meet the following criteria:Essential Job FunctionsPrepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patients into physical therapy apparel or apertures.Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests, allaying fears.Helps treat patients by applying heat packs; paraffin dips; helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.Adheres to policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to the treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning patient on equipment. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instruction; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Maintains physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.Enhances physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities; reading publications, maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Requirements:Knowledge of human anatomy and physiologyFamiliarity with medical terminologyExcellent patient service skillsAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsSkills:Proficiency in assisting with exercises and therapeutic activitiesUnderstanding of proper body mechanics and techniques for safe patient handlingAbility to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionalsExperience working in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not requiredThis is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy.
