Physical Therapy Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists with patient intake, setup, and preparation for therapy sessions.
• Support patient care activities by monitoring patient progress and ensuring comfort during treatments.
• Prepare treatment areas, including setting up equipment and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions and treatment procedures in accordance with clinic protocols.
• Educate patients on basic exercises and assist with therapeutic activities under supervision.
• Manage inventory of therapy supplies and ensure proper functioning of therapy equipment.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans effectively.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
• Prior hospital or clinical experience, particularly in inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute care settings.
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on delivering compassionate care.
• Familiarity with hospital medicine, orthopedics, geriatrics, and sub-acute care environments.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols during therapy sessions.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
