We’re looking for a Painter:

Responsible for the completion of all assigned refurbishment and painting projects under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services and assist with conducting routine maintenance and repairs inside and outside the community, installing and servicing equipment and systems, and preparing apartments/cottages for move in.

This is a full-time position which includes every other weekend. Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Interacts and engages with residents while in their apartments and throughout the community.

• Responds to maintenance service requests from residents; performs required work or advises supervisor of additional resources needed.

• Completes all assigned painting projects which will include but are not limited to mixing and applying paint, removing wallpaper and paint, repairing or hanging sheetrock, repairing wood finishes, repairing / cutting molding or chair rail, repairing doors or cabinets, caulking, and patching.

• Removes all furniture, supplies or articles from areas (when necessary) before starting refurbishing activities.

• Cleans entire area each day when finished with working hours and when the project is completed. Keeps area as clean and orderly as possible during the progress of work.

• Maintains adequate supplies for each job and keeps log / records of all invoices or receipts for purchases on each project.

• Pressure washes siding on houses and apartments, sidewalks, driveways, and other visible project surfaces.

• Assists maintenance personnel with miscellaneous job duties as directed.

• Participates in the quick and efficient turnaround of vacated apartments to prepare them for visits from prospective residents and move in of new residents.

• Performs a variety of routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep tasks throughout the community.

• Ensures proper handling, storage, and maintenance of potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment; maintains proper documentation and MSDS logs as required by OSHA.

• Participates in and attend all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.

• Other duties as assigned.

• An individual in this position is often required to read, write, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and/or hear.

• An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight up to 50 lbs.

• Must be free of diseases that can be transmitted in the performance of job responsibilities during the stage of communicability unless the associate can be given duties that minimize the likelihood of transmission.

• May be exposed to minimal to moderate noise and exposure to blood and/or body fluids. Also may experience traumatic situations including psychiatric and deceased residents.

TRAVEL: Local and out of state travel, including overnight stays, may be required from time to time to attend conferences, training, meetings, and professional development programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduation or GED required.

• Technical training in mechanics, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, or HVAC desired.

• Mechanical or maintenance experience required

• 1-2 years’ experience in painting and housing / commercial refurbishment desired.

• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance position desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.

• Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards.

• Ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment.

• Ability to understand and follow directions as given.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
