Medical Assistant

Under the direction of the clinic supervisor, the medical assistant is responsible for the receiving of patients, preparing the patients to be seen by the provider, and assisting the provider as requested in the delivery of care to the patient. The medical assistant works with patients and is knowledgeable with regard to the clinic's patient education program and provides educational materials to the patient when appropriate. The medical assistant is also responsible for the maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic and sterile techniques
• Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs and brief medical histories
• Perform clinical procedures including immunizations, injections, venipuncture, and urinalysis
• Assist providers during patient exams and procedures
• Greet and register patients, manage referrals and authorizations
• Schedule appointments and ancillary tests accurately
• Answer and route incoming phone calls, taking and distributing messages
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms

Qualifications

• More than 1 year of recent Medical Assistant experience
• CCMA or RMA preferred
• Good past work history
• Open to entry level Medical Assistants who completed a Medical Assistant program within the last 6 months, and completed a clinical externship. Also must hold CCMA or RMA if no experience.

Work Environment

This position is onsite Monday-Friday, standard clinical hours 8am-5pm.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
