Gallery Attendants serve as the first point of contact for visitors, providing a welcoming presence at the front desk of one of the Trust's visual arts galleries. In this key role, attendants help foster a positive, safe, and engaging environment by monitoring artwork and exhibitions, assisting with visitor inquiries, and supporting the overall visitor experience. Shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:45 AM 5:00 PM (6.25 hours/day), including a paid 30-minute lunch break from 1:00 1:30 PM. Occasional evening shifts may be required in support of public programming and special events. Shift assignments are based on the curatorial schedule for each gallery and may vary accordingly. Priority will be given to candidates who are available for all five days.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree in fine arts, art history, arts education, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Work Experience: 25 years' experience preferred, working in galleries, museums, or other visitor-centered environments, with an emphasis on customer service and visitor engagement.
Supervisory Experience: None required
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, scheduling software, and basic audio-visual equipment is highly desirable.
Intangibles: Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain composed and flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Passion for art, and demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and empathy when working with a diverse range of visitors and colleagues.

Physical demands: This position involves office work occasional lifting up to 20-30 lbs. may be required. The individual should be able to sit and/or view a computer screen for long periods.
