DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role focuses on helping children and families referred under the Child Protective Services Law and supporting them as they work toward safety, well being, and permanency. RESPONSIBILITIES Case Management: Provide guidance and support to children and families throughout the case process Safety Focus: Monitor family conditions and take steps to promote safer environments Family Support: Assist families in accessing resources that encourage stability and healthy living Collaboration: Work with team members and partners to help families achieve positive outcomes Documentation: Maintain accurate records of case activities and interactions WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Full‑time employment. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch. Rotation basis for Late Person (Intake) and OnCall (Intake and Ongoing). Telework: This position does not allow telework. QUALIFICATIONS – MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Two years’ experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college‑level coursework including 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences. A bachelor’s degree with, or supplemented by, successful completion of 12 college credits in those fields. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits and at least one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or a similar paraprofessional case‑management role. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits. OTHER REQUIREMENTS PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
