Direct Mail Equipment Operator

Full-Time | Salem, Oregon

We are looking for a mechanically inclined, dependable Direct Mail Equipment Operator to join our production team.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position operating high-speed equipment used to insert, address, match, and prepare millions of pieces of mail for our customers.

Direct mail experience is preferred, but we are also interested in experienced machine operators with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills who are willing to learn.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate high-speed direct mail and inserting equipment.
• Load envelopes, inserts, and other materials into production equipment.
• Set up feeders, sensors, cameras, belts, guides, and machine components.
• Monitor equipment and finished mail pieces throughout production.
• Troubleshoot jams, feeding problems, sensors, and mechanical issues.
• Perform equipment changeovers between jobs.
• Verify addresses, barcodes, inserts, and matching accuracy.
• Perform regular quality-control checks.
• Record production quantities, waste, setup time, and downtime.
• Perform routine cleaning and operator-level equipment maintenance.
• Keep your equipment and work area clean and organized.
• Work with the production team to meet daily schedules and customer deadlines.

Equipment Experience We're Interested In

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• BlueCrest / Pitney Bowes FlowMaster
• High-speed envelope inserters
• MCS inkjet systems
• Inkjet addressing equipment
• Camera and barcode matching systems
• Friction feeders
• Mailing equipment
• Bindery equipment
• Printing equipment
• Packaging or automated manufacturing equipment

Direct Mail Experience Is a Plus

Previous experience in direct mail, commercial printing, bindery, fulfillment, packaging, or manufacturing is preferred.

However, we will consider experienced machine operators from other industries who demonstrate strong mechanical ability, reliability, and the ability to learn.

Physical Requirements

This is an active production position that requires standing for extended periods and regularly bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling production materials.
