Tennis Elbow Lead Me to Chiropractic

I was a personal trainer. As you can imagine, my job required lifting and carrying weights. Suddenly, I developed a painful elbow condition known as “tennis elbow”.  The pain in my elbow was so intense that I couldn’t clench my fists, hold a weight, and at times, couldn’t even pick up the lightest dumbbell! I was afraid that I would lose my job if my disability continued. After considering surgery (the only option according to the surgeon) I decided against it.  A friend of mine convinces me to give his doctor a try. This new doctor does an exam, takes some films, and then adjusts my spine and elbow. The adjustment doesn’t hurt, it actually feels good. I get relief, and I can use my elbow and hand again. My personal  chiropractic experience (in addition to the other miracles that I saw occur at my doctor’s office) make such an impact on me, that I eventually go to chiropractic school myself.

I had always been involved in athletics and knew I wanted a career path that included health and fitness.  I worked for years as an exercise physiologist and personal trainer and was able to get tremendous results with healthy individuals.  But I knew I wanted to affect people with a wide range of health issues.  Coming from a family of medical doctors I saw firsthand how rewarding it was to heal people.  I explored many different specialties and realized that Chiropractic fit the best with my philosophy of restoring health without the use of drugs or surgery.

Chiropractic Education

I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in exercise rehabilitation and my degree of Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic.  I have found it beneficial to meld my educational experiences to provide better more knowledgeable care to my patients.

Chiropractic Philosophy

I am concerned with the total wellness of your body.  Therefore, I incorporate holistic health options such as exercise, therapeutic massage, and diet and lifestyle changes into the treatment of my patients.  All avenues of health restoration are considered.  I strive for excellence in every aspect of my practice to help you achieve your health goals.

Family

I am the middle child of three.  My older brother is married and has three beautiful daughters.  My younger sister is also married and has a beautiful daughter and son.  I am single with no children, but I do have two crazy Labrador retriever mixes which keeps me busy along with all of my nieces and nephew.  I am very close with my parents who are still happily married after 40 years.  In my spare time, I enjoy riding my motorcycles, playing chess and spending time with my friends.  I also love to sit on the beach in the summer and read those silly gossip magazines.

Get On The Road To Better Health With Chiropractic

The connection between the brain, the spine and the nerves is what makes you feel the way that you do.  When your spine is out of alignment, contact between your spine and nerves can be painful.  Correct realignment of the spine will relieve the pressure on the nerves.  And relieving the pressure reduces the pain.  I receive chiropractic care three times a week.  I enjoy lifting heavy weights several times a week for exercise and I have chosen a physically demanding occupation.  I believe frequent chiropractic care and regular exercise keeps my body functioning optimally, preventing and protecting me from injuries.

The decisions you made five, ten, fifteen, even twenty years ago are responsible for your state of health today.  And the decisions that you make today will dictate your health in five, ten fifteen, and twenty years.  Make the right decisions for your health and give our office a call today!

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
